Lana's Deer Hunt

| Lana dropped the hammer on opening day! While watching a group of does file into an open sage flat, my nephew, Tyler Berry, spotted this rutting buck and Lana's stalk was on. With only 30-40 minutes of daylight left, Lana closed the distance and connected with the buck from approximately 170 yards. Tyler and I watched the entire hunt! This rugged and desolate country is full of historical landmarks and lowland beauty. I have hunted deer and elk within this unit on a few occasions and I cannot wait to go back each time. | The following pictures demonstrate Charles' skilled dutch oven cooking that we have grown accustomed to. Charles has a variety of ovens that he uses to make items such as biscuites, cornbread, peach cobbler, chile, cowboy breakfast casseroles, pot pie, chile, etc. Dutch ovens are thick-walled cooking pots with a tight-fitting lid and they have been around for hundreds of years. For whatever reason, the taste of the dutch-oven food around camp is always good. Enjoy the pictures! |

Jacob's First Cow Hunt

| Jacob drew his first cow elk tag this year and I thought I would share a few pictures. Although Jacob failed to connect on eight different occassions, we had a great time and it is a hunt that I will not soon forget. |
